Goldacres has been working with JK Personnel for the sourcing of skilled and unskilled employees since August 2004. In that time, JK have assisted us with the prequalification of prospective employees using both DISC profiles and our own custom designed manual handing and dexterity testing systems.

DISC profiles have provided an invaluable insight of prospective senior and executive employees, allowing us to understand both the attributes of the candidate as well as offering self-examination of the role when establishing the position description. Our success rate for senior employees has been excellent, and being able to access a professional tool like DISC profiles through JK has been very beneficial to our business. 

The staff at JK are ever helpful and having Jennifer and Samantha drop in to catch up on what’s happening in our industry and business is useful. During the three years I have been involved with LBWR I have had numerous dealings with JK Personnel. In all cases these have been productive and helpful.

Given the diversity of these experiences I will discuss them briefly and separately:

  1. My appointment to the Executive Officer position came as the result of a recruitment process overseen by JK Personnel. Having been through a number of job interview processes in the past I approached this process with confidence. The actual experience surprised and challenged me. The JK Personnel staff were incredibly professional, expert in their field and forced me to reflect on my skills and aptitudes like no-one had before.
  2. After a short period in my role I sought the support of an experienced corporate mentor. Jennifer Kelly was recommended to me and when approached agreed to meet with me and see where she could assist. That relationship has continued to this day and has been of enormous benefit to me. Jennifer’s skills in seeing ways through challenging situations are very highly developed.
  3. LBWR is an organization committed to developing community capacity and providing assistance for those less fortunate. We have a strong relationship with the Justice Department and at one point we were asked to see if we could provide assistance for a highly recommended ex-offender who was having difficulty finding employment. Whilst many people sympathized with this person’s situation the only company which actually did anything about it was JK Personnel. With their help we found this gentleman a job and gave him the chance to rebuild his life-it was greatly appreciated.
  4. In a separate capacity my role on the board of a local NFP organization has led me to use JK Personnel to find senior staff for roles that are both demanding and underpaid- a hardly desirable situation. Despite this JK completed the jobs successfully and our organization continues to reap the benefits of their good work and advice.

JK Personnel have been supplying SP Treads Ballarat with production workers for our re-treading plant for over 7 years.  All the permanent staff originally commenced work with SP Treads as casuals through JK Personnel.

We invest a lot of time in the induction and training of new staff, therefore it is important that we recruit casuals who are not only capable of learning but are willing to commit to our requirements.

It is difficult to predict staffing requirements so JK Personnel must maintain a pool of suitable candidates to ensure they have workers available at short notice.  JK Personnel have been able to maintain high standards in all these areas.

They liaise regularly with us to monitor the performance of their people.  The staff are always courteous and friendly and a pleasure to deal with.
